What have you been up to...?

In case you're interested, here's what I've been up to lately (Jan 2005 - now) and what I've got planned...

Journal Archives: Nov 98 - Jun 99 Jul 99 - Dec 99 Jan 00 - Apr 00 May 00 - Sep 00 Oct 00 - Feb 01 Mar 01 - Jul 01 Aug 01 - Dec 01 Jan 02 - Jun 02 Jul 02 - Dec 02 Jan 03 - Jun 03 Jul 03 - Dec 03 Jan 04 - Jun 04 Jul 04 - Dec 04

Saturday January 3rd 2005 - Josh and Justin came around to watch Desperate Housewives (GREAT show, btw), and then spent the rest of the day with Clint.

Monday 10th January - Simon's sister Katie came to stay with us on her way to London. Really nice to see her. She looks great.

Tuesday 11th January - Felt a bit queasy after getting home from work.  Ended up really sick.  Couldn't sleep.

Wednesday 12th January - It's food poisoning.  Feel awful, and weak. Day off work.

Thursday 13th January - Feeling a little bit better, but still awful.

Friday 14th January - Back at work.  All better.

Sunday 16th January - Went to Darling Harbour for dinner with Katie, her friend Charles, and Simon.  Katie left for London.

Monday 17th January - Day off work.  We have one day that we need to take off between Xmas and Australia Day, so today's the day.

Tuesday 25th January - Been at my new job for three months, and I'm loving it.

Friday 28th January - Our good friends Mark and Donald are over in Sydney for the weekend.  Went out for a drink, then had a BBQ.

Saturday 29th January - Breakfast at "Bills 2", shopping in Chatswood, then to the beach with Mark and Donald.

Monday 7th March - Went to the Cher concert with Clint.  First was the Village People, who took far too long to leave the stage.  Anyway, the Cher concert itself was great.  It was fantastic to see her in person.  Of course, her face is pulled so tight that we couldn't tell if she was smiling or not.

Friday 25th March - And so it begins.. another Easter = Chocolate and Hot-Cross Buns. Yay!

Sunday 27th March - Daylight Savings ended. Boo!  Summer's drawing to a close.

Sunday 26th March - At the beach with Michael.

Friday 1st April - Another Kylie show on sale.  Scored 11th row tickets.

Saturday 2nd April - At the beach with Martin.

Sunday 3rd April - It's the middle of autumn, and it hit 33.4 C today, so had to go to the beach with Martin again - right by the airport, and we watched the planes landing and taking off while we got a tan.  Fantastic. The coming weekend looks good too.

Monday 4th April - Yay!  Scored Star Wars tickets.  Katja came back from Byron Bay.

Thursday 7th April - My identical twin brother Warren arrived from London on the way through to New Zealand.

Friday 22nd April - Simon's Auntie Lizzie came for a visit, and stayed two nights.

Saturday 23rd April - Photoshoot with Gregory in Hyde Park. James took a few photos of me, too, including the one on the front page of the site.

Thursday 28th April - Simon's aunt (Liz) here again after going up north. Katja left for up north.  Everyone's going up north.. we should go too.

Saturday 30th April - Saw Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.  Fell asleep.  zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Friday 6th May - James' last day at work. He was an excellent Helpdesk manager, which made my job easier.

Monday 9th May - Katja back in Sydney.  Went with Clint to see "Russell Watson & His Orchestra" play at the Sydney Opera House. That was the first time I had been inside.  Awesome!  We had tickets right in the middle of the floor.  The best night out!

Monday 16th May - On a InstallShield AdminStudio training course this week.

Tuesday 17th May - My other great musical love, Kylie Minogue, has postponed the Australian leg of her concert tour because she has just been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer.

Although I'm sad that "our Kylie" - the bubbly and highly successful Australian pop-singer who is loved by millions worldwide - may be going through a really tough time, it highlights that it's not just the "high-risk" women that can get breast cancer. We all know that Madonna's mother died from it. Losing her mother tragically early has been at least partially credited for making Madonna the success-driven person she is.  Kylie's chances of survival - on the other hand - are good, because it was caught early enough that they can do something about it. Kylie is surrounded by her loving, close-knit family, and she'll pull through.  Hopefully the good that comes from this will be that more mothers, sisters, cousins, daughters, and lovers get tested regularly enough to find tumours in such an early state that something can be done about it.  There's tons of information out there on the web, but here's a good starting point: http://www.breastcancer.org/cmn_myt_idx.html

Friday 20th May - Attended a Kylie Minogue function to raise money for the fight against breast cancer.

Saturday 21st May - Kylie was operated on, and the tumor removed.  And.. good news!  It appears that the cancer hasn't spread.

Sunday 22nd May - Second photo shoot with Gregory.  Got some great photos.  Saw Star Wars Episode III with Andy, Clint, Ben, and Simon at La Premiere.  Best movie out the entire six.

Monday 30th May - Flew to Brisbane for work.

Wednesday 1st June - Tonight would have been the first of two Kylie concerts.  Had front row of section G on the floor, so the view would have been excellent.  They're going to rescheduled, so they said to hold onto our tickets.

Thursday 2nd June - Another Kylie concert would-have-been.  11th row from the stage, this time.

Saturday 4th June - One week's holiday in Langkawi, Malaysia, staying at the Sheraton, as a birthday surprise for Simon. It was kept a surprise until we got to the International Check-in counter.  :)

Sunday 12th June - Back in Sydney.  We had a great week.  The rainy season started early, but we saw a lot of sun between the copious amounts of rain.  The food was fantastic, and so very cheap too.  Three course meal including cocktails at the Sheraton = about 20 bucks.

Monday 13th June - Public Holiday in NSW.  Lauren (a friend I have known since I was tiny) moved to Sydney from Perth.  Yay!

Sunday 10th July - Flew to Perth for work.

Monday 11th July - Simon's mum and dad came to stay.  Yay!  Haven't seen them for a couple of while.  Pity I'm in Perth.

Tuesday 12th July - Left Perth bound for Adelaide.

Thursday 14th July - Back in Sydney.

Monday 18th July - Simon's parents flew back to New Zealand.

Wednesday 20th July - 2nd row tickets to Margaret Cho, with Andy, Clint, James, and Justin.  Was so much fun that I had to stop listening for a while, because my stomach hurt from too much laughing.

Wednesday 3rd August - Went to The Little Snail for Katja's farewell dinner with Josh and Justin.

Thursday 4th August - Kevin's birthday.  Katja left for Munich.  :(

Wednesday 24th August - Went to Raquel's Spanish Restaurant with Josh.

Thursday 25th August - Happy birthday to me!  Had lunch at the Bavarian Beer Cafe with work colleagues.   While eating lunch, we got filmed for some TV show called "Sydney Weekender".  Went to dinner at Mosiac with Josh, Justin, Simon and Ishara.

Friday 26th August - Dinner with Dave and Michael at Una's.

Tuesday 30th August - Flew to Brisbane for work.  Then down to Broadbeach, Gold Coast for Microsoft TechEd.

Thursday 1st September - Yay! Spring!  Celebrated by sitting outside in the Queensland sun enjoying the 26 C.

Friday 2nd September - Back in Sydney.

Sunday 4th September - Rainy, cold day in Sydney.  Stayed indoors the whole day.

Thursday 13th October - Mum coming to visit.

Saturday 31st December 2005 - Arrive back in Sydney just in time for the New Year's Eve celebrations.

January 26th (Australia Day) 2006 - If all goes well, I'll be an Australian citizen by this date.  Didn't want to do this in 2005, because I'm entitled to all my German superannuation back in November.

Friday 3rd February - Donald and Mark visiting again.

Tuesday 7th February - Donald and Mark fly back to Auckland.
